Ready to Go!

The company that arranged the cutting and supply of steel, was kind enough to also provide a mobile gantry hoist that was surplus to their needs. Many thanks to Paul Cobbin.

Finally, the steel has been sorted and checked. There are hundreds and hundreds of pieces, ranging in size from 6m long down to 10 cm. A building bed made from ‘I’ beams has been put into place onto which the boat will be built. This bed has been positioned onto the centreline of the factory’s roller door to make it easier to shift Yamoya out of the factory when complete. The picture here shows the first building support being assembled (on the floor) which will support Yamoya’s frame during the initial building stages.
